The Birth of the Brand ﹣Llegend
1779年的6 月,年輕的瑪麗.安東尼皇后 (Marie-Antoinette) 身體微恙必須服藥,吃藥同時她嬌嗲地向藥師蘇比士.黛堡先生(Sulpice Debauve)訴說藥太苦難以下嚥, 黛堡先生知道來自奧地利的皇后非常喜愛巧克力,便靈機一動將可可與藥結合以除去藥的苦澀。
當時的風氣,可可只是一種飲品,並且通常伴與牛奶一同飲用,細心的黛堡先生為考慮到藥與牛奶中和可能對藥性產生不良影響,他便將可可粉與水一同加熱,將藥研磨成粉後與可可溶液攪拌均勻,倒入容器待其冷卻凝固,切為小塊,使皇后在享受濃郁可可香氣同時也不知覺地吃了藥。黛堡先生的創世之舉,不僅成效極佳,更成為了後世數百年普羅大眾食用可可最受歡迎的基礎製作方式與食用方法﹣巧克力雛形於是誕生。
In June 1779, the young Queen Marie-Antoinette complained to her pharmacist Sulpice Debauve that the medicine was too bitter. Sulpice knew that the Queen was very fond of chocolate; he had the idea of mixing drugs with cocoa to hide the bitterness.

At that time, cocoa was just a drink, usually associated with milk. As a pharmacist, Sulpice took into account that the drug effect could be altered by milk and invented a process to mix drugs with cocoa powder by using hot water. The pulverized medicine stir into a hot cocoa solution, once solidified chocolate was cut into small pieces, so the Queen was able to take her medication and enjoying the rich cocoa aroma at the same time. Sulpice creation was not only excellent and effective but he paved the way for future generation, modern chocolate was born.
